Wife has a question for the group

Guilty of not only epoxying my pants to my leg, but also SITTING in a drop of epoxy I hadn't realized dripped...

You CAN buy rust remover in the laundry detergent section at the store. I used to put the grinder outside when I first started. After the first rain I had tiny rust spots all over my car and boat. I figure it's easier to vacuum out the shop than scrub and buff the car.

I do have lots of clothes with hardened epoxy spots on them. I've since bought a welding jacket and almost always wear it when I'm in the shop.

Also, don't forget the bits of forge scale, cooked borax, and leftover stubs of welding rods stuck into the sols of boots! :D

This is a great thread! :)

I've done most of them....no rusty shirts yet though. I'm not allowed to leave my garage/shop until I am naked down to boxers. I have a little box by the door that I have to dump everything in to. And I am required to make a bee-line to the shower...if I touch anything along the way, the shit hits the fan.

Haven't had rusty T-shirts or other types of clothing (unless you consider those occasional unexplained racing-stripes in my drawers when a belt explodes, or a bandsaw blade decides to break)

What I have had problems with is blowing out my shop from time-to-time with a "yard-blower". Yup, I open the doors and crank up that miniature hurricane. The dust has a tendency to settle on my white truck and mama's white car. Well......... after a couple of years the hood, roof, and deck-lid have tiny little rust spots all over them.

Probably wouldn't happen if I could get mama to wash and wax the vehicles more often. I just ain't got time myself. :)
