Wife knife?

My wife likes her black Izula... :p

She also has teeny tiny hands. I just stripped the coating off for her though, and it's sitting in some mustard right now so that I can get a nice patina on it for her. And if she doesn't like it, it's not too expensive so you can just keep it for yourself!

Here is a review wifey did in case you didn't see it before...

I really like the wrap on that Izzy.
I like that the pommel hole ISN'T wrapped.
How does it feel in hand?

Ironmike86 - This will be a general utility/camp knife and will be her first "dedicated" carry for family outings.

Jforbush - Is that Izula wrapped over the scales?

This brings up a couple of follow up questions:

1) Is there any noticeable difference in the RAT -3 and the ESEE -3? It appears from photos there might be a slight difference in the scales.

2) Serrated or Plain edge?

I thought about going the Junglas, RC-5, etc., etc. route but she is wise to that game! That was played out on the Simpson many years ago when Homer bought Marge a bowling ball for her birthday (with his name engraved in it).

Thanks for all the input! I know I cannot go wrong with either ESEE choice!

Thanks again!

Ok, just ordered her an RC-3 (and a RAT Firekit for myself).

I think she will be happy!

I ordered the desert tan with green scales and plain edge. I think the look of the desert tan will suit her better and "looks" like a cleaner finish.

Now, if only the weather would cool off so we can "enjoy" being outdoors....

I say get her a Junglas, once she says the handles too big buy her a ESEE4 or 5 of course that one is too big also so then maybe go with the 3 or the Izula and make her happy (meanwhile you keep the first two knives). This is what is known as a win win situation. That's my recommendation.
You have my vote for "Genius of the Year"...

Great idea....... :D

My wife confiscated my only serrated RAT, a RC-3 in OD with the G10 orange scales. It is now a permanent fixture in our kitchen much to my chagrin.

She has small hands and loves the feel and balance of the three. I just have to keep reminding her to keep the blade clean and dry when not in use.

I am sure I will end up with another RC-3 (for me) and a Junglas... both to complement my RC-6 I purchased last week!

My Debit Card is starting to smoke.....
