Well, surprisingly, my wife was excited when I told her I wanted to go back in the Navy. However, this time I'd like to go back as an officer. So, I've decided to apply for OCS, pending my college graduation.

Looks like I might have a break in my knife making...

I had to tell someone! :):)

Good luck!
I hope your career choice suits you and your family. thank you for your service, past and future

Good luck. Having the wife behind you is primary.

The navy needs officers right now. Intel is a super field if you can get into it.

Congrats. Hope it all turns out. It may be a stressful job but I'll tell you what that pension check every month does not hurt. Take care and be safe.

Do they give lobotomies to Naval officers like they do most Army officers? :p Godspeed in any decision you make.

hahahahhah spoken like a man that has lived the insanity!!!!

LT: hey doc why dont you low crawl up to that box in the road and see if its an IED?

ME: with all do respect sir......NO, and could you tell me again why we cant just shoot it?

Good luck with your decision

She sounds like a wonderful and understanding Woman and being an officers wife isn't a bad thing.

Good luck Sir.

Doc.... yeah, know the feeling... I was unit Doc in Desert Storm, had a buddy go a little mad and start cacking off rounds during a "practice alert", LT asks me to go out there and calm him down, I ask him who's going to work on me when I get shot? Same LT was jogging one night and ran into the triple concertia....

Being former enlisted I don't think they'll make him get the lobotomy but you never know, it'll make the other officers feel safer. ;)

Best wishes on a long and fruitful career. I was enlisted and the best officers in my book were former enlisted because they weren't born with that silver spoon, they took it away from some other sap after beating the crap out of him! :D

Thanks guys. It's a long process, but I'm confident I'm make it into officer candidate school.

I will chime in one more time here. A bit of advice from an old Chief. You were enlisted and decided to make a move to better yourself. I applaud that wholeheartedly. When you are accepted into OCS and get to your first command as a officer remember where you came from!! Enlisted personnel are what make the armed services run. Officers and Chiefs in the Navy guide them along. Make sure your people are taken care of and they will take care of you. Also make your chief your "best friend" though not literally. When your Chief backs you up and you listen to his advice you will do well. Fair winds and Following seas. Good luck in you continuing career.

I seldom check my grammar when making quick posts. So, don't judge me because I leave a word out hear and there! :)

Thanks AC
