Saw that Wiggy's has some bags on sale very cheap. I could get 3 bags to the price of one kifaru. Both use climashield. So insulation will be similar. Not sure if Wiggy's uses the combat version of climashield. I think the Wiggy's bag might be a little bigger in the wide. These are 20 degree bags. I had an ultra light Wiggy's a long time ago and actually loved it. It doesn't compress as well as the other bags out there but it was a tank, warm, comfortable and roomy. I went with an ultra lamina by mountain hardwear. It is lighter, smaller, compresses better but seems fragile compared to the Wiggy's. My quest for another bad is because my son is 4 and starting to love camping. Wiggy's is a lifetime on their stuff. It would be around 100 bucks shipped for the Wiggy's. I considered giving my ultra lamina to my son and get a kifaru but for the money the wiggys seems awesome! Is the kifaru that much of a better bag if better at all?

I have a wiggy's 0 Degree Hunter Super Lt. with the Hood on my wish list for a year now.

My current bag is over 20 years old and still does ok. I remember buying it, I had a huge crush on this girl who worked at the sporting goods store. She gave me her employee discount :).

Moral of the story is buy quality and it will last a long time OR at least buy from a beautiful woman who you'll remember!

Quality and good looking...great combo:D

You really can't go wrong with either. I used a 20 degree Slick bag in Afghanistan and loved it. I've had a Wiggy's bag in the past; quality, but it never compressed much...my only complaint. If they are using the same insulation, than that should fix the compression issue. I can say both companies are pretty solid on their comfort ratings, at least for my comfort level meter. Knowing how hard kids can be on gear, the Wiggy's may be your best investment!

I own both. Both in my opinion are high quality items. I'm not very graceful and tend to be rough, not by design, on my gear. I can say both bags have stood the test without any issue or damage? Last time I checked Wiggys uses a totally different insulation which is very warm BUT does not compress well at all. It is not the same as Kifaru! Hence I went with Kifaru for my backpack. For car camping or hunting the Wiggy is great. For compaction, weight reduction, and backpacking the Kifaru is the only non-down route I'd go. Kifaru customer service is world class. They treat you like family. Wiggy's well . . .

Give the Wiggy to your young'n and treat yourself to a Kifaru! Get the extra wide if you do. If you do not need to compress the bag down the go with the Wiggy.

I slept in and on top of a Wiggy's bag for an entire year. Washed it as needed and air dried. I agree with Rock6, did not compress very well, but was an awesome bag to say the least.

This^^^^ Pretty much what I said a few years ago when I picked up my first of 4 Kifaru bags. I still own 8 wiggys bags for the family, but would rather toss the Kifaru in my pack. For sake of duplication, click this link for my last write up I was able to find on said Wiggys VS Kifaru bags. Its all good reading.

EDIT to add, the weights in the thread posted for the Kifaru stuff sacks are reversed. I did alot of typing that day. Sorry, I just noticed it again.
