Wild Afternoon...

What a difference a couple of days make, it was actually cold overnight and it is a beautiful day today. Lots of people without homes now though but thankfully "only" one (one too many) life lost.

Awesome photos Andy...I'm glad that you're safe. Best wishes to all of our Aussie kin!;)

Those pics look very eerie!!
I hope you guys stay safe and avoid any problems!

Andy it looks like half the country threw everything they could at those fires - volunteer firefighters from all over have headed up there. With a hundred homes gone it sound like people did the right thing and got out early. You're right, one life is one too many but this could have been so much worse.
The Bureau of Meteorology website is telling me you should have rain on the way in a couple of days; hopefully that gives our fireys the chance they need to get the upper hand.
Stay safe mate.

You gents stay safe down there!!! Fire be it man set or nature is nothing to take lightly.

LOL
i saw the pictures without reading first what you wrote
i was sure that the last pictures will show you take down the tree with one of you blades
stay safe

Scary stuff! Prayers heading your way. I saw on BBC that the fire might have been started by military demo training?

... they would be talking about the fire that started on the 1000yd range at he back of Lithgow (this was one of many pics), not sure what the cause was but it did start at the range.

Over 40 the last few days here.... Cyclone season starts in a few weeks. Might be in for an interesting season this year me thinks.....

Stay safe everyone.

Just heard from friends that live in the worst hit street of the worst hit area.... :( Their house is OK (as are they of course), lots of ash/soot inside but insurance will take care of that. They lost a kids cubby house and a free standing shed and contents. Many many other houses in the street are gone, they are counting themselves as the very very lucky ones.
