Haven't been posting much lately, catching up on my orders, but...

One of my collectors asked if I'd make a "Take-down" Camp knife in W-2.....with a Micarta handle... I tried to resist... I knew I should'nt do it....but I love that Black Linen Micarta...

...and that Thin Red Liner...

...then I thought, "I'm already involved, it wouldn't hurt just to make a Thumb-nail Skinner with more Micarta for the handle."

...with more of that Red Liner, and tiny Facets on its tiny blade...

..after all, its a Take-Down, the Mammoth will never suspect...

...Then Paul Long took photos of the wardrobe I bought her

...and put them on the internet...

..now everybody knows.

Excellent. You may guess that I'm a proponent of good quality synthetic handles, too. That micarta handle will be around for, ohhhhhhh, about a few thousand more years. :p I love the grain.

Loving the variety of the two. Perfecto. And then Paul makes it a successful marriage to carry.

Did I already say excellent?

John that is very cool I want to thank you for the tip you gave me at blade on bringing out the hamon line I tried it the other day and it worked very well.

Excellent work John as usual. Love the W-2 and the micarta, especially the thin red accent. Beautiful set. Great hamon.

Nice camp knife! The addition of the skinner is a great plus, and Mr. Long adds it perfectly to the main sheath!

I sense a guilty pleasure in the making of this knife, Mr. White:)
Sometimes you just have to give in. Eh?:D:thumbup:

That's a REALLY nice rig.

I saw the first pic and immediately thought, "Jeez, how the heck did he broach a micarta block for the tang???" Thankfully your second pic explained it quite succinctly! :D

Very well done, Congratulations to you and Paul for a job well done. Now if it had only been done in Margarita green, what would it have looked like? :)
Jim

That set looks awesome, I really like the takedown aspect and love the overall look of the camp knife. The sheath looks great and blends the 2nd knife perfectly in with it. Overall the package looks great and whoever gets it is going to be very happy. Great job.

Now that's what I call a premium working camp set - the micarta choice makes sense here and looks good to boot. The red liner was an inspired choice. Paul's kangaroo sheath rocks. Great job all around.

You and Paul really did a super job on that set-up........Micarta never looked so good. :)

GREAT pair of knives and superb sheath to hold them. Takedowns are just COOL!

Pleasure seeing them John.

Thanks,
Peter

John,

Those are a couple of super knives. They look like they will get the job done.

Micarta is great for users, but I still like Ivory on my knives.

Jim

Hey, I'm glad ya'll like these knives and their really neat P.L. sheaths. They were fun to make. The handle to the Camp knife was epoxy cast to the polished and waxed tang. I had to baton it off, and lightly re-sand and polish the tang for a snap fit!

JatMat, I do have that small box of Margarita G-11 I bought from you!

Jim T., we'll need to show 'em that Walrus Ivory of yours one day...

(Is no-one except maybe Lorien gonna comment on my weird sense of humor? Oh well)

John

John, next thing you'll tease us with is that you will make a Micarta folder that clacks hard. Ohhhhh, that'll be the day...!

You're a funny guy. ;)
