here's a couple of examples - both are circa mid-1860's:

I also used to own an original 1800's SW knife (probably New Mexcico made) with a blade similar to our version - the first inspiration so to speak....

Thanks. The recurve style is really growing on me. That one Chuck posted on the left reminds me of an E-nep.
