Wilderness dream teams! Show them off!

I like it quite much, especially for the price! Simple durable thing. Obviously doesn't match two handed axe but the compact size and light weight makes it easy to take with you.
As a big knife guy, almost by trade it's sort of a difficult tool to get behind.

Great thread!
Love seeing the combo's everyone takes into the woods.

Here's one of my favorite combo's:

What hatchet is that? Love the scales on the ESEE.

There's no brandmarkings on the hatchet so not 100% sure. Someone else told me it's a Mueller from Austria.

The scales on the Esee are from TKC. Make this knife so nice!

I saw some Helko hatchets that look similar
Thanks. I'll look into those.

Edit:
Those german Helko's look very similar to mine (I can't find any difference except fot the painted brand markings). Thanks again for bringing these to my attention.

Do the Helkos have stamps?

I'm just casual camper. I would like to get myself a proper axe at some point but for now I am rolling with these. And honestly, I have found tomahawk to do just fine as I really rarely need to split or chop anything at the woods (mostly collecting dead wood from the ground).
I was surprised in regards to how capable the hawks are.
I usually bring a small axe camping but was given a CS Frontier Hawk by a buddy and was surprised; IMO it punches way above its size.
Weighs nothing and does a good job splitting firewood, clearing branches and other odd jobs round the camp.

a have several different combos depending on the season, how far I'm going, expected tasks, etc

this is what I'm headed out with today- Opinel 18 saw, Wetterlings hatchet, Bark River Liten Bror

when there is more wood processing involved, larger saw- Silky Mebae (this is an amzing cutting saw!), Wetterlings small axe, Swiss Army Bushcrafter

Yeap! The beauty with hawks is that they got relatively thin blade and that combined with the momentum provided by long shaft works beautifully. How do you split? I haven't found it very effective with hawk though due lack of head weight.

My old setup for small fires, great for day hiking. Kukri is easier to carry than an axe, to me.

And this is what I'd bring now
