Here is a collection of photos from the last Wilderness Learning Center Basic Survival Course. The photos should speak for themselves but if anyone has any questions, let me know and I'll explain them. I've broken them down into the different skills based classes and will take more pictures on the next course and edit this thread if there is anything I have left out. Enjoy!

Kevin,

What was the highlight of the class? Where were most of the students from - city? country?

that sure looks like a lot of fun!

are there many foreigners that come to attend these classes?

edit: by foreigners I mean europeans and alike :)

man, I'm dying to go on one of those classes. I haven't been camping for YEARS. I'm really missing beign outdoors.

Great pics Kevin. I'll see ya in about 8 days bro when its my turn up there.

Brian come on up, maybe there's room for more!

Brian,

There were many highlights to this class. It was the first perfect class in 24+ years Marty has taught that all 10 of the students got a coal and blew it into a fire with the bow drill. There was also one student who had a birthday and Aggie masterminded a plot to get him a cake and icecream one night after dinner. The last day involves a critique that was hillarious with certain comments made. This group really enjoyed knot tying and I can't tell you how many braids and decorative knots were taken home. With all those and many more, it is hard to pick out just one.

As for students, many were from NY with 4 coming right from NYC. Others were from Long Island, Maryland, Texas and one from TN.

Very cool on the 100% coals!

I heard from Marty that at one of the classes you guys ran into a thunderstorm that was right on top of you?

The class looks like it covers some great material for some fortunate students! I'll have to start saving those pennies so I can come learn and be fortunate, too. Thanks for sharing, Kevin, looks like an awesome time.
