I was wondering if we could get this going. How about we post photo's and maker info. of our survival knives. The only criteria is the knives have to have at least a 7 inch blade. Sawteeth, hollow handles,or just big knives.Old school Rambo types like from Lile or modified designs like those from Parrish,Beck,Carillo,Martin, etc. I am hoping to find new makers who are making something different but well made. We should also include survival type sheaths. Here are some of mine.Makers include:Parrish,Martin of Texas,Carillo,Koster,Farid,Brian Johnson,,and Terrell.

so, only a knife with a 7 inch or larger blade can be used to survive in the wilderness?

Guess that prevents my participation.

If i'm not mistaken I think the OP just wants to see variations on the TYPE of knife he's depicted. We can do this without going on a diatribe about the definition of what a survival knife actually is. SS just want's to see archetypes of that design or type of knife. That said, I have none that match your criteria!

These all have 7"+ blades. ;)

Not what I meant at all. I realize that the majority of people use blades in the 4 1/2 to 6 inch range and they work just fine. My goal here was not to determine the proper size just wanted to explore what was being used in the large knife catagory. If you have a smaller one, what the heck post it, I am open to anything and glad that you want participate.

I only have two 7" bladed knives, my Chopweiler...

The closest thing I have to a survival knife, albeit a tad shorter, at 5", than the OP's 7" suggestion. Still - stout .25" thick 1095 CS. Sheath carries a firestarter and some other goodies. The RAT RC-5 is quite a value - ~$125-$140 - US made.

While I have great 4"-5" BRK&T examples for 'bushcraft', aka 'wood's survival', I certainly don't think of them as 'survival' - at least in the 'tactical' sense. My KaBars may be the next best choice.

I almost forgot, some HI's. From top to bottom, 22inch Ganga Ram Special, 2 AK's, a Malla, and a BAS. The smallest HI is as large, or larger than my largest Busse. The Ganga Ram Special (GRS) comes in at almost 4 pounds. :D
