wilderness tattoos

I don't have any tatoos but a compass rose would be my first if I had to get a wilderness related one. Either that or the North Star. Either way, they both symbolize direction and the possibility of a journey. I live my life by following my goals and you could say they represent having a direction towards them or down the right path.

Plus, you'll never get lost - even if you forget your compass!:D

No wilderness ones on me. Right arm is for my daughter and I'm in the works on the left for my son. My wife has her left thigh done in under sea life if that counts. 6 years, 9 sittings and a whole lotta $ for that one. Told the artist that she wanted a seahorse and the rest was up to him. He's a friend of ours and has his own shop so he really put in the extra effort. Ended up covering her entire thigh. Its awsome. I'm jealous. Sorry no pics.

I have a lot of tattoos, nothing wilderness related though! Most of mine are from a pretty rough time in my life and I probably wouldn't be inclined to get them done again...might well get more tattoos but probably not big pieces that say things like "born to kill."

What can I say? I guess I just wasn't always a nice guy...or even a slightly decent human being! I guess some guys are born stupid and take a few decades to smarten up.

Here we go :D

No pics of my tats, but besides some paw prints and tribal fish on my arms and a grinning sun on my ass, the rest are not too outdoorsy. This is one I plan on getting someday though.

LMAO. It takes a long time for the hair to grow back and I've discovered passing the 4 oh mark, it usually comes back thicker.

I guess that my wifes tattoo could be considered kinda wilderness related.

I drew it for her so I'm kinda flattered that she liked it enough to wear it forever. The pic was taken a few hours after getting it so its still a bit red in the pic.

EDIT: she loves Dragonfly's. She even carries a Spyderco Dragonfly every day.

Is this a Coheed and Cambria reference also, by chance. If you've not heard of them, they are a rock band. A great one by the way.

Nope, not a C&C thing. Pretty cool now that you've pointed out the coincidence .

Truth is, my wife was born and raised in Detroit, MI. Not a woodsy type at all. I took her on a canoe trip years ago and the Dragonfly's were thick. Landing all over the canoe, paddles, us...

She was in a panic thinking that they actually sting. I put my hand up and a dragonfly landed on it. I showed her they they are not only harmless, but beautiful in color, and agility. Ever since then, she's loved 'em. Got dragonfly's in the kitchen, bathroom, her car...

Coheed and Cambria sound interesting from what I've found by googling. I'll be checking 'em out. Thanks for the tip.

Coheed rocks. One of the greatist bands I have heard in a while. There new cd is good, took a bit to grow on me, but 3 and 4 are unbelievable. DVD is great too, starlight ballroom one.

No tats yet but when I get one it will look like a combination of these.
