Hello guys and gals...well, today I got my flint and steel in the mail and I made a short video...I thought it would be cool for all of us to share videos of our fun outside! It can be a fire making video, or shelter building, or maybe camp food prep...who knows...If you enjoy doing it, make a vid, and post it here!!!
This was my 1st attempt at firemaking with flint and steel, it was very fun, and satisfying once I got a flame!!! Not as hard as a bow drill, but a bit harder than a fire steel...in any event it was fun! I can't wait to see all your vids!!!!
I used a small piece of black flint, not sure what kind exactly, a oval steel striker, and a 1" square of char clothe...once I got a spark to land on the char clothe, I transfered it to some jute twine that I took apart and fluffed up into a birds nest shape...blowing into it got me a flame, many of you already know the deal with this, lol...just explaining it to any lurkers, or noobs reading the thread...
