Some weeks ago,I bought me the new WX folding knife from Wildsteer/France.
Mainly meant as a tool-knife for Bowhunters,it is also very suitable for every knife enthusiast.

In this video review,I am only testing the knife - not the optional tools for extracting arrow-tips or cutting steel wire. These tools can easily be attached to the groove in the blade and work quite excellent(like on the fixed knives of Wildsteer.Bowhunters may know these tool knives.
Have much fun with my "knife-abuse-video" now.
I am curious for your opinions on it.

Greetings from Black Forest,Germany,
Chris

Hello,

Great testing video! Very interesting knife, especially the lock and the secondary lock. Does the lock have room for wear? Like with a frame lock and liner lock over time the lock bar can move along the lock face. How uncomfortable is the handle? Seems like it has a lot of sharp edges and corners.

Have a good one,

Chris

Hi Chris, there are no sharp edges on the grip or the frame - they just look like uncomfortabel.Indeed, this folder feels good in the hand - of course, not as good as some ergonomic handles from wood or micarta, but no problem to work with it.

So far,I couldn´t find a con with the lock mechanism - there is no space for it to move after a time,so ,I guess,it is more durable than common liner or frame-locks.

But I own this knife now only since a few weeks - I will have to wait and work more often with it to make a better statement about its durability.

Great review. I loved how you translated as well, though I understood your German perfectly fine. I'd say greetings from Stuttgart, but I've been in the US since 1990.

Thanks, harkamus.I hope my english translations are not too bad ;) learned some english only in school, and that was in the 80th.

Your English is better than many native speakers here that I know.

It's been over two decades since I was last in Schwarzwald.

Back on topic though -
The locking mechanism: I would make it a bit more overkill just because I favor symmetry. The right side levers I would also replicate on the left side of the frame. You might as well make it super overbuilt, right?

Good idea ;)

And I would like a variation with a longer blade...yeah!!!! I think,Wildsteer will surprise us in future with more cool design ideas. I talked with the founder of Wildsteer at the Knife-fair in Eisenbach two month ago,and he told me,that there are some innovations,he is thinking about for coming projects in near future.

I want a different blade shape, perhaps something like a bowie. I would also like some distributors here in the US.

 thumbs up for another great review, I loved your review of the Svord Von Tempsky Bowie! As a non German speaker, I think it's really cool that you do parts in English and in German. Even without understanding the language, it's easy to tell what you're talking about because your tests are so direct and observable.

That is one awesomely beastly knife, keep the reviews coming!

Wow, I just made a thread over in the general section about this review...completely insane what you put that knife through. Are you still as impressed with it as you were initially were? What else have you done with the knife?

I just wanted to see what the knife looked like, and ended up watching the whole video. Great job on that and a very impressive knife! It is like a cold steel folding bush on 'roids'. It is a knife I would consider buying.

I had no idea you were a member here, BlackForestGhost! Your vids are my favorite on YouTube. Your review of the Fox Folding Pro Hunter with LAWKS led me to buy one. You've sometimes got some tasty looking food in your vids too. Many thanks for doing what you do!

Prof.

Can anyone tell me exact size of this knife?
producer says that the blade is thick 0.3 "
I can not believe it ....

IMG_1246.jpgI own this knife and it is without doubt the king of beasts in the world of folders. It is a hair shy of coming in at a full1/4 inch thick on the blade spine.Once locked there is NO PLAY! It is fixed blade tough and then some. I have never put it to use at all but seeing this review, reminded me why I got it in the first place.
10.5 inches OAL. Simply astounding and I have to believe that the OPs review is spot on.
The handle is surprisingly comfortable and the most unique feature is the secondary locking mechanism. The overall design is very industrial and unlike anything I have ever come across.
Thanks BFG for a great review and reminding me about this great workhorse of a knife.
