Will Beckers ever have different colors of coatings?

I would love to have a tan or OD green coating. I'm sure it would sell more knives!

With the new coating though, people may be inclined to leave them on. To me they look ESEEish and most people leave their ESEE coatings.

Strip, then Cerakote. Maybe I'll do this to my BK-2 when the coating is really worn out.

I would be very happy to see OD and tan coatings I think the reason so many get stripped now is that the coating isnt very durable. Probably that will change if its a better coating.

I think a blaze orange (hunter orange) knife with the black handle scales would be cool. Plus you would have to try really hard to lose it in the woods.

+1. What he said.

I can't imagine the economics would work out in KA-BAR's favor but I'd be all over it. ESEE has some really great options. I'm pretty sure I'll cerakote one of my Beckers sometime soon.

krylon :)

do eet

i was thinking of painting my BK77:)

I would just love to see one with no coating(aside from the 10). Although the duracoat idea might not be a bad idea :)

I think rather than go with different blade coatings KABAR should go the other way.

Offer aftermarket solid Black, Coyote Brown, Olive and Hunter Orange (And maybe Pink, Lime Green and Purple) scales for all the Becker models. I know they are well on their way with the new Escakabar Orange and Tweener Coyote Brown scales, but they need to go the whole nine yards and truly satisfy the market demand..

In the end, it would be more cost effective and profitable for them to simply offer those colors of molded accessory scales than do various colors of blades. They all would look great with basic black blades which is more than I can say for the ESEE factory micarta scales with most of the blade colors they make..;)
