Basically, the Black on Black BKT's that we have all grown to love, is a product meant to come in at the lowest possible bottom line. Once you start making lots of options available, then the price starts going up.
Kabar makes knives in large quantity, when I say large, I mean in the thousands, at a time. Once you figure the additional cost of changing paint for a few knives here and there, well, the cost starts going up.
I wouldn't expect to ever get a BKT in any color other than Black, from Kabar.
