Will Blade Play be Better in the ZT 0560/0561?

I posted a link earlier in this thread of a YouTube video in which a guy shows how to make your framelock lock up sooner/possibly better. I haven't tried it but but it appears to have worked for him so its worth a shot and wouldn't take long to try.

Don't mean to be a fanboy here, but ZT will fix the bladeplay for you if you send it in...

i don't know if it is because it isn't fully engaging. i have tried to push it over some and do some of the things listed in the video from another post. nothing has really worked. and i would send it in, but if you read the "location" section of my profile, korea is a very far way away. Kershaw/ZT has a fast turn around rate, but i would almost be out this knife for month with a week at least to get there, 2 weeks queuing and repairs, then another week for return. i absolutely love this knife, and the steel and blade shape are amazing, but I am almost to the verge of selling it and just getting the 0560.

Missed that. Doh!

My first 0551 had minor play - but the blade was almost against the G10 side. It was the only one of the six my enabler had like that. So, when I grabbed one to purchase, which one did I grab? Yep. No problem, < a 1/4 turn CW on the pivot screw (T8) centered the blade and 'removed' the blade play - KEEPER! That was months ago - early in it's availability (#057x). I bought my second one Saturday - perfect. I had to know - so I loosened (CCW) the pivot screw 1/4 turn - same result as my original 0551 - blade near the G10 liner and with some blade play. I returned it to it's original position - 1/4 turn CW - centered and no play. If you have 'play' when locked - and the blade isn't centered when closed, ie, is nearer the G10 side, tighten the pivot screw. Too tight, however, and it won't open! If that doesn't apply to your 0551, etc, I'd send it to ZT.

Stainz

PS My new 0551 was s/n 052x - lower - go figure! Did I mention what a keeper they are??
