Will CLP oil or WD-40 brighten my damascus blade?

I think of using CLP oil for rust protection on my carbon blade but I'm curious that would the CLP oil will remove etching on my damascus/darkened laminate since it also labelled as steel cleaner. Same question for WD-40

On most etched damascus it won't, the etch is deep and permanent. Only acids and abrasion will affect the etching, this means no hard rubbing with flitz or other polishes. If the maker or previous owner polished then used cold bluing for contrast with no etch then it's possible a little may rub off if it wasn't applied properly.

Hard to tell. Who made the Damascus?? Like Yoda mentioned, if it is etched deep you have no problem. If light it might lighten the darker lines. WD should not remove anything but still, can't really tell without knowing more about the blade. Can you post a picture??
