LOL no but it is interesting/entertaining to see what it could take.Do you really envision using your 20 or 20s in a manner that will come close?
The XXX has a much thicker blade and lock. With something like the 20s the blade would probably break before the lock. I’d really like to see some spine impact tests as a casual user would be far more likely to experience an ACCIDENTAL spine impact than 700 lbs of static force.I dont think it will matter all that much. id expect any shark lock regardless of knife would handle about the same weight give or take.
I dont agree with that. what broke on that test was a pin. not the blade stock or the lock itself. The XXX has a much thicker blade and lock. Thanks for sharing. I’d still bet money that the blade on a 20s would break before the lock. Of course I may loose that bet, but it would be a very interesting test.I dont agree with that. what broke on that test was a pin. not the blade stock or the lock itself.
im not against more testing. Demko does the best testing by far....but I dont think testing an ad20s is going to fail by the blade stock or lock than the one they tested at about the same weight.
ive watched Andrew and Mike do this test at cold steel for years on all kind of brand knives and blade stock thicknesses and I cant remember any knife breaking at the blade stock. maybe I forgot 1 thoug
I have to ask...based on what? you've seen other thinner stock blades snap before locks in other testing? you have other information to share with us? thanks. Thanks for sharing. Hey! I resemble that remark. Come on man, let the enormous folk have some fun too!…or extraordinarily large humans but the vast majority of us will never carry or even own that thing.
^the only test that actually really matters...Some called this test baloney, but I think it has merit...

Yup, there is an old blade hq video where they test locks with a winch. They test a Spyderco Delica and the blade breaks before the lock. Now I know it’s a different knife, thinner blade and different lock, but given the strength of the shark lock I suspect it will be stronger than a 20s blade. Which is fine by me, I will never put those forces on a knife. I just want to see someone else do it. And again I fully acknowledge I could be completely wrong.I have to ask...based on what? you've seen other thinner stock blades snap before locks in other testing? you have other information to share with us? thanks.
yeah I remember those videos...it unlocked itself due to the cable setup and they retested it and it broke at the pivot....and did another and it broke at the pivot same spot. two of them at the same place is due to the design of the blade at that location where it failed repeatedly. no other knife did so odds are in my favor. that delica blade has far less steel where it broke at the pivot hole than the ad20s or even an ad20.5.Yup, there is an old blade hq video where they test locks with a winch. LOL, I’m probably gonna loose but I’ll bet my Cold Steel Bush Ranger. It’s a user but I removed the bill boarding and ghetto stone washed the blade so it’s kinda unique. I can’t post a pic right now because I’m working out of town. If they post a video and I’m wrong it’s yours if you want it.yeah I remember those videos...it unlocked itself due to the cable setup and they retested it and it broke at the pivot....and did another and it broke at the pivot same spot. two of them at the same place is due to the design of the blade at that location where it failed repeatedly. no other knife did so odds are in my favor. that delica blade has far less steel where it broke at the pivot hole than the ad20s or even an ad20.5.
I feel a bet coming on...how much ya wanna bet on your theory?
naw im kidding on the bet. appreciate what ya put up though. Who wouldn't want to win that knife.LOL, I’m probably gonna loose but I’ll bet my Cold Steel Bush Ranger.
