will my knives arrive?

I've never ordered from BHQ, but I've never heard of any vendors refusing to ship non-automatic knives to locales based on local law. (Automatics are different, there is federal law that applies.)

If you live somewhere in the 5 boroughs, I'd carefully consider whether I wanted to carry a knife with a flipper. That is not legal, and the NYPD can be... mercurial, might be one way to put it, about that.

Nothing to worry about. BladeHQ doesn't care about state laws (don't ask me how I know, because I won't tell you 😉 ).

Let's just say I've ordered a few knives from BladeHQ, and was very pleasantly surprised that I received them here in California.

And it's not like New York, state or city, has it's own Customs Department that stops, opens, or x-rays all incoming mail.

I think you've just got a case of knife newbie anxiety.

Welcome to Bladeforums. :)

thanks everyone I will post photos when it gets here!!; in the past I've only bought Gerber and local hunting knife brands (upstate ny) , so I'm excited to branch out.

they're here, the bestech is nice and has smooth flipping with a good weight, but the smith and Wesson is too heavy doesn't flip open and is uncomfortable for tricks; both are very sharp though.

Maybe NY should be listed in GBU. I was born in NY but left in 1969 and haven't looked back. Come live in Texas where the knife you carry (or gun) is your business. Even CA lets you carry a knife with a 5.5 inch blade.

Enjoy that Bestech! You will find that Blade Forums is the best place in the world to learn about blades.

Keep it to NYC though lol, you should understand that the rest of the state is different than that area. Where I live you see people with knives on their belts year round and you still see gunracks in some back windows. Cops out here in the hill country don’t care about much unless you’re stirring the crap.
