Masking tape works fine. I'd recommend putting on the tape and then screw the scales down tight. Then using a fast acting, Methylene Chloride based stripper, brush on just the parts you want to strip and wait about 5 minutes. I used a piece of wood to scrape at the metal to get the coating off. I thinks it's a combo of using the tape with the scales on, during the stripping process and the fast stripper. It's worked good twice for me.

Thats a good idea. I thought about it but didn't have the gonads to try. I was worried that I might damage the grivory.

I didn't hurt them. the stripper was only on about 10 min total though.

I didn't think you could really hurt grivory.... It's pretty @&$% tuff

It'll become part of my edc! Right between my phone and my zippo on my belt- it'll offset my leatherman and maglite on the opposite side nicely!

If it was legal to edc the BK2 here, I totally would. But unfortunately, I need a "socially acceptable reason" to carry anything over 12cm (just under 5") blade length. Heh, it is the core of my outdoors edc. So what.

Well it's not legal here but then again I don't own any knives under 2inches
