*Will the Sifu be Rekats only mega folder?

RS, there was talk about a folding sword being produced. It required an improved
locking mechanism. I can't remember the details, but if you try the search function
it should still be here somewhere. I want to
the Savant, I suspect it will be the replacement for the Pioneer II.
 
I don't know any of the specifics concerning the Savant, hell I don't even know if I'm
spelling the name correctly! If you do a search of the REKAT Forum going back to the begining, you should be able to find the threads. Being a small manufacturer, REKAT can change directions on new projects quickly. I remember Spark alluding to some new and exciting things happening at REKAT a few months ago. I will have to do a search to find it again.

If the WakaTan gets into production, well that will answer your question about the Sifu
being the only mega folder.

The Savant is suppose to be the replacement for the Pioneer Series; I think that the Darrel Ralph Zytel knive collaboration is indeed the Savant. I have no proof of this, it is just a guess. REKAT is a small knife company with very limited resources, or that is my guess. This allows them to make changes rather rapidly. Take a look at how they can produce the various Bladeforums knives. I don't think that they can develop many new designs and market them at one time. This is why we only see one or two new knives introduced over a years timespan. Will we ever see the WakaTan folding sword RS? I'm not sure, will we see the Savant? I'm confident we will see that knife go into production. What will it be? I suspect it will be about the same size as the current Pioneer, have a Rolling Lock, and most likely a black handle. Other than that who knows? Take a look at the olds threads and come to your own conclusions.

Yes there is another mega folder on the board I’m hoping to get a prototype dun for shot show. Next to come out will be the Pioneer replacement the first prototype should be dun in the next couple of weeks. This one will have a whole new look and feel with three different blades swept clip point and tanto.

Bob, is there a market for a "giant folding utility knife"? Basically do a non-recurve, thicker-blade megafolder with a grip that can be choked back and forth. Do a grip somewhat similar to a Busse fixed blade except longer and with a single Carnivore-like subhilt point...blade length in the 6" range? Or more

but the D2-M steel makes something like this really practical for heavy utility. That steel is really "better than a fighter needs" so we might as well build something that'll take full advantage of it?

Bob, when will this new mega folder come out? What are the dimensions and materials used, and price?
