Will the Smith Pocket Pal work for the M21-14SFG Veff serrations?

I currently have an M21-14SFG with Veff Serrations and I recently bought a Smith Pocket Pal. I want to use it to sharpen the Veff serrations, but the rod is smaller than the serrations, so I'm afraid to use it. Will I mess up the serrations by using the Smith Pocket Pal? Should I get something that's meant for Veff serrations (like the CRKT Veff Sharp)?
Thanks!

If the rod's radius is smaller than the serrations, I wouldn't worry. More often than not, that's the norm with most dedicated serration sharpeners anyway. It's very rare to find one that's an exact fit. The only thing to be careful about, is to go very light on pressure. The small contact area will magnify the force greatly, which could dent/chip/roll the edge if pressure is excessive.

If you wanted to, you could use a wood dowel more closely matched to the radius of your serrations, and wrap some wet/dry sandpaper around it.
