Will there be a para 2 sprint in elmax?

Agreed. I was just pointing out that the Persian uses red g10.

Yeah, I forgot about the Persian. I will say that when I first posted pics of my Son's Red Delica, Sal made a comment about how good it looked, but that he had to point out the risk of having a red knife with a "live" blade.

I will say that Red is pretty cool - I'd have no problem with a Red Para.

Pretty sure kershaw has the patent for composite blades. But elmax with lime green would be sweet!

Id love one thats for sure. I love my elmax mule. I love my spydies period. If I had more money Id be in trouble. Any more spydies in elmax and id get me one or 2 depending if I could sell a kidney or something. The Lionspy is cool just doesnt toot my horn like some of the other spydie designs out.

I'm going to go ahead and say that I hope they don't. I'm already broke and running out of room to put all my Para-2s and there's no way an ELMAX Para-2 can be released without getting me into more trouble with the wife :D

Yeah I probably have no where near the collection you and other forum members have. I have my Para2 in 20cp which was my first Para2. I preordered the para2 in 204p. Still am kicking myself for not getting the blue para2 even after stalking bentoB. for weeks on end. (just could not take the plunge and now regret it) got the pre order in on the new Flipper which im excited about. Got the pink manix 2 which was suppose to be a gift for the gf (I confiscated it and have it tucked safely away) but it was too big for her little hands. (she got a pink mini grip instead) got a persistence, ambitious,a ladybug salt, and elmax mule, old hawkbill looking one in g2 from when I was younger and didnt know anything besides I really liked spydies. A police my grandfather gave me that is beat up and an old endura also. My adventura got stolen by an ex. and my Volpe was broken when I drunkenly allowed a friend to use it to try and open a door. I just love spydies. One day Id love to have a collection like ive seen on here that others have.

I don't even have a Para2 yet so I sure wouldn't kick on one in Elmax. Most sprints can't be obtained in Canada without resorting to the secondary market and so far I have stayed out of that game. If I could I would have every Spyderco sprint but life gets in the way.

Elmax would be a nice steel to try on a para2. I wonder how would it perform with the typical para2 grind because the one on my ZT 0560 is great.

Elmax with ghost jade g10 scales. I forgot who mentioned this on the forum, but I think it would be awesome!

I am not saying Elmax isn't a great folder knife. But the design of the PM2 would not take the best advantage of it. That is why there is a m390 pm2 instead of an m4. Spyderco prefers to get the most function out of its knife.

Which for the life of me can't figure out why the Spyderco Gayle Bradley "Air" at 1.27oz bothers with M4? I like the knife, I like the steel but an award winning chopper type steel on a feather weight knife?

From everything I have read and seen as well ( as far as testing videos ), CPM-M4 also has very good edge retention when ran at high hardness, coupled with really good toughness. I think Spyderco was running the Gayle Bradley's M4 at 64-65RC. I would venture to say they are using CPM-M4 for the wear resistance. Back to the original topic. I would be totally down with an Elmax Para 2. I have also been testing the Mule I have, and so far even with pretty thin stock, and being ground pretty thin by the edge. It held up pretty darn well on the edge retention test I did.

It's not just an award winning chopper steel. Those competitions are more than chopping, and CPM M4 is known for more than its toughness. Cpm M4 does very acute angles better than a lot of steels, which makes it well suited for a small gents knife; you can put a very thin edge on it, and it will hold it better than a lot of steels, which makes sense in a gents knife that is only going to see light use.

All true and one of my favorite steels but coupled with such a pretty knife there might be some that don't want any patina or the care thereof. It is a hit though so hard to argue.
