Will this work for a knife handle?

It's from the most popular kind of oak tree in florida. Not sure if it'll work, it's hard as a rock, cut cleanly, no visible cracks. I know it takes a while to dry it out, but is a branch even worth holding on to? Can't be more than a day or two fell.

There's always that run of soft stuff through the center of branches, so I wouldn't even bother unless it's for a something really small. What you want is something much larger in diameter👍
