My conclusion:
FAL'ER has passed out completely. With his head on the keyboard....
 
1095 is workable, fixable and affordable. It gets an edge, holds and edge and regains its edge readily.

D2 is great; I like it but I am not seeing the big advantage over what we have now.

Well, longer edge retention and more corrosive resistant than 1095CV are the two biggies that come to mind first.

This really isn't about whats better, but what we would like.

S35VN BK10 would cause.....dampness....

I love the ol' carbon Becker Beaters...but just think.....super alloys.....bum bum buuuuum!!!!

Ehh, twill neva happens....
