Will ZT ever release another collab folder…?

Srsly, just me or has it been forever since they released a nice new folder collaboration - what happened to all their partnerships with guys like Ernie, Onion, G&G Hawk (RIP), Rexford, etc.

Now all we get is in-house designed ZTs, or re-runs of the classics…

I don’t want to buy Chinese to get a quality production knife designed by some cool cats.

I wonder if overseas production gives designers a margin that ZT can’t compete with, as well as production run counts and timelines?

Well, that and the fact that you can now buy a genuine Hinderer for $100 than a ZT Hinderer collab would cost.

I don’t think there’s any room for designer and ZT to make any money, hence in-house designs.

Real shame the state of affairs isn’t it. Although guys like CKF seem to go ok selling higher end collabs. I guess zt must be going fine. Their stuff is just a bit boring now

I love my 0095BLK S90V. I initially liked my 0470, but now that the stars and stripes ano is super faded it's become a "meh" knife.

How about a Brian Tighe collab?

I still love some of my old ZTs, like this beautiful 0392 Hinderer Design (regrind by REK). I think there's a slim chance in hell that they will ever attain their former greatness.

I sure hope the good ol glory days makes a return soon. I just picked up this ZT 0456TIBLU Sinkevich designed beauty a few weeks ago and its hardly left my pocket. I'm really liking the feel of this one. I put a Hinderer holey clip on it and made it that much better.

I have an old 0452CF (s# 0013) and 0801 Black Wash (s#0711) and they are still two of my favorite knives.

I think it’s true that ZT has become boring. I would love to see them return to their glory days when they were consistently hitting it out of the park.

And the 0606, and the 0888. But I doubt that will happen. Realistically to survive, and stay true to their roots, they’re gonna have to shell out some money for new collaborations.
They desperately need a new Hinderer, Emerson and/or Les George design.
Or a Hawk, Ken Onion, RJ, something.

Unless they take the WE approach, and do a fancy version of the new Bel-Air,
Don’t do that to us ZT , I for one would love to see them relevant again, but IMO there’s only one way that will happen: hard use knives again!

The only ZT's I've kept are collabs. Their in-house designs just aren't very good IMHO. It's a shame because their ability to build quality knives is certainly there.
