Will ZT have a new version of the 56x knife at SHOT next month?

Oh I stand corrected. I thought the 0909 was like a liner lock VECP. Are the dimensions closer to the talos? Just stick your 0900 in the microwave and stretch it out.

+1 for a zt vecp. The 909 is pretty great though.

Re the Hinderer stuff a 3" non flipper would be my wish.

My other zt pipedreams are a linerlock emerson and a renewing of the Strider relationship. A zt sng would be to die for.

0900 is like ESV and ESV is an Extra Small VECP.

0909 is like Talos and somewhat different than VECP.

Perhaps we'll see a ZT version of VECP with full titanium frame lock and flipper.

I don't think the 0562 has been out long enough to warrant a new 056x. Maybe next year.

I think Spanto would be a fun one to do. Maybe a further scaling down to 3.25?

Those are just blade stops on the 0562 not thumb studs.

Ive played with a few 562's and if you want to open it slow you can use the stop in conjunction with the flipper to have a more controlled, slower opening.

I hope whatever they have upcoming, has some of the features mentioned.

You could be right on the timeline, a 3.25 bade would be nice as well. The 566 is just to heavy with the steel lock side, but the blade is right on.

Swapping them would be fun.

0563, Spanto ground, ti framelock 3.25 blade

0567, bowie grind, assisted liner lock 3.5-3.75in blade

Maybe a choil, different blade shape, <snip>
About the choil*
If I wanted a shorter blade, I would get a 560, Longer means a 562 would be my target.
I wouldn't be in the market for a 560 cutting edge length (and lesser ergos) on a 562 OAL by holding onto the blade...

Blade shape*
Maybe a Nessmuck styled blade, or a Trailing point would be nice.

That being said, I know there are plenty who love choils, but for myself, a knife that is under 5.5" of blade, there is little usage for one since the blade length isn't cumbersome.

Maybe they will put that 606 blade on a updated 562 chassis, that is one sweet blade plus it has a choil.

Several years ago it was $500 brand new.

Versus spyderco which is offering some pieces now at less than $200 in full production models.

Versus Spyderco, which offered a version of one of their standard run of the mill Manix designs with a Maxamet blade (excellent knife), while Zero Tolerance produced a completely new, from the ground up, 3d machined titanium ball bearing pivoted knife with custom 3d machined integral adjustable pocket clip, which won the Blade Show Knife of the Year in 2012, the one that sells for over $2000 on the aftermarket now? That ZT?

Yes - that's the one.

I would like to see a new Hinderer, but with Kai USA Ltd. being the preminent design collaboration producer, I am excited for what new desigers might come into the fold.

I would be all over a ZT0562 in Maxamet though....

best
