Who owns a William Henry carbon fiber series knife?

I've carried an Emerson CQC-7 for about the past four years on a daily basis. Though it has undergone only what I would consider mild use, there are two chips in the blade. Thus, I am looking for a new knife. I am considering purchasing a T12-CF model William Henry knife. Everything I read praises these. However, with the knife being so light, are durability and strength lost? Does the knife keep its outward appearance six months and a year after carrying it? Thanks for any responses.

IMHO it's like comparing place kickers to guards or .308's to .22's. Built for different jobs.:D

I have to agree, the William Henry carbon fiber series is meant to be a gents folder, something to be worn almost as a piece of jewelry. I think it would hold up during everyday use, but I wouldn't recommend it.

I have owned the T10-CF for about a year now, maybe more. I carry it in a suit coat pocket or clipped to khakis or shorts. I usually carry something larger in jeans.

It has seen very light duty work. Paper, shrink wrap, etc. It is occasionally called on for cardboard or plastic ties of one sort or another.

It is very well constructed. There is no flex or wobble when opened and has served me very well.

The only change in appearance has been a noticable dulling of the carbon fiber. I doubt you could tell if you saw the knife now, but if you owned it from new, you could tell that the carbon fiber isn't as lustrous as it was when new.

Hope this message gets to you before you make up your mind on a purchase.

I don't currently own any WH's but I have owned them in the past and they are perfectly capable of holding up under regular use. They are not heavy duty tactical folders, but they are perfectly capable performing all the cutting jobs that small or medium sized knives could be expected to perform. They just make incredibly poor pry bars!;)

I have a WH-10BT.. which is just a pretty version of the CF..

Though, mine is strictly a collection piece, and has not cut anything.
It seems perfect though, and I would be willing to wager it would take some decent level of abuse, for a knife of its size.

You sound like you could use a heftier folder, not a lighter one if you're getting chips from your 'mild' use... I wouldn't like to see heavy ;)

Sounds to me like you need something a bit more stout than the WH offerings. They are great knives.., and I have a couple, but the chipping you described sounds like more than "mild" use to me?? Perhaps we just dfeine it differently.

As menitoned, I think of their knives more in the vein of a balance of esthetics and function (i.e., "Gents Knife").
