Seeing as the "sensible" moderator is currently MIA, what about having a little fun?
Time for another contest!!
Any suggestions for a fun & quick method of distributing a few free knives? [charged to Will's account, to make them a little sweeter!

]
We will have to be sneaky & quick with this, so it has to be all over by march 1st!
Any suggestions?
Yea, prizes for good suggestions too!!!
Gentleman (& ladies), start your engines!
Good luck,
Phil

Hi Phil - how about suggestions for prizes?
smile.gif
I think either a CQB-1 or Talon would make anyone happy. Oh, since this will be charged to Will's account, how about BOTH!

BUSTED!!!!!

But still a good idea!....Phil , How about giving away some of the Proto's YOU'VE got in your office.......

From the bowels of Mike Turber's office, I reamain the sensible moderator of the CAMILLUS forum,

Will Fennell
CAMILLUS CUTLERY

DOH!

Sorry Will, Your not in SC, all bets are off!
Unfortunately Jim is in my office, & has agreed that all prizes, including protos, come off YOUR sample account!

I told you that "anal" comment was going to cost you!

Good luck to you all,
I smell lots of winners here!

Phil

How about prizes for the best Camillus knife reviews posted on BF between this friday and March 1st?

Or...

Send out the freebies to the same number of Blade Forum members(equivalent to the number of freebies) that reply to this thread and have them do knife reviews on what they got.

Or...

Describe in 50 words or less, "Why I like Camillus knives..."

Or...

Guess how many Camillus knives Dexter Ewing's vest can hold?

Or...

Best humorous story on how to use a Camillus knife?

Or... Best Story on introducing Camillus knives to a blade virgin(newbie).

Harry

Since I suggested these, do I get a freebie? At least for effort?

How about a contest for the best justification for producing the next Becker design? The prize should of course be a Companion.

O.K, here's my suggestion, for better or worse: You take all of the contestants, give them a Talon, and whoever cuts off the arm opposite their cutting hand gets to keep their Talon!!??!!!
biggrin.gif
Runners-up receive a Camillus bumper sticker, and a box of band-aids. Barring this, I like Kozak's idea of doing a review of the given knife the person receives. BUT, the first idea would gain MUCHO more press!

Take care,
John Johnson

Well, how about these ideas;
Prize for the oldest Camillus knife
like maybe a Becker for the oldest fixed blade and a Cuda with the circuit board scales for the oldest folder?
A prize for best story surrounding someone's use of a Camillus.
A prize for the person who suggests the best suggestions

Another idea:

Have people write up short stories as to how knives have made a positive impact on their daily lives.

Good luck,
why not have the user review the knife!! I have used at least a hundred over the years and I am just getting to know what i really like in a folder and fixed blade! as a matter of fact i could easily write a book on my preferences on knives!!!

How about a contest for the best explanation of why 40 thousandths of an inch is important on a premium knife like the Talon.

The first Becker that is ready to ship out the door. =) I would love to have that one.

Regards,

Tom Carey

Geez Will, Mike Turber and bowels in the same sentence? Thought I saw "orifice" in there too. Phil's going to have to keep a closer eye on you.

So far we've had anal, bowels and orifice in this thread, so for a contest let's see who can guess how many rolls of Charmin you can cleanly cut through with a brute before it can no longer shave.
smile.gif

As for prizes any Becker or the Talon. It would simplify my wish list a little. I would also be glad to test a Talon here in a salt water environment

How about a prize for the most unusual use of a Camillus?Using the same knife to castrate baby pigs in the morning and then using it to cut up lunch meat and cheese at the local auction that evening sure caused some old ladies to look impressed when they asked what a knife like that was doing in the hands of a youngster like myself. HE HE!!

Kozak:
"Guess how many Camillus knives Dexter Ewing's vest can hold?"
I like it! If Dexter agrees to determine if it is in fact a finite number! I've personally seen knives going in for days without any coming out!
Worthy of a T-shirt.

John Johnson
Er...........NO!
No sharp prizes for you!

"Prize for the oldest Camillus knife"
Good contest, but a little dull for the forumites that don't have one.
Worthy of a T-shirt.

"How about a contest for the best explanation of why 40 thousandths of an inch is important on a premium knife like the Talon."
Dreadfull contest! But you do win a T-shirt for knowing.

Rex
How about a prize for the most unusual use of a Camillus?
GOOD CONTEST!
You can have a T-shirt if you promise to never make me a sandwich!

Any more contest ideas?
I'll pick one or two on Tuesday 22nd & we will try to have a little fun giving away some of Will's knives!
T-shirt winners please email me size & shipping address.

Thanks for the help & support,
Phil

You could have a guessing contest on who the next new custom maker Cammilus will be collaborating with(or who it should be). After that's determined, which model(s) of their's Camillus will produce.
Mike K.

How about "Why Camillus knives are a good way to introduce kids to responsible blade use?" I have two nieces and a nephew that would qualify...

Phil, thank you for the T-shirt.

Harry

Hmm...how many Camillus knives I can stuff into my vest? Sounds like a winner to me! Though, a warning for Phil - what goes in ain't comin' out
biggrin.gif
I think I can fit a Campanion in somewhere! LOL

How about a contest at the shows you attend. Like they have to come up with pass word or knife, that you say
on this forum. Like at the Oregon Knife Show, in Eugene Or.
