Wilmont Cooper -1 at the blade show?

Using a rubber contact wheel against the abrasives doesn't seem like a bad idea. If anything will stand up to the abuse of the abrasives, i would assume it would be rubber. My only concern, is the hot metal particles in the belt grit, but that wheel might serve double duty and keep the belt a little cleaner....

I have been using the below setup for I would guess about 1.5 years, I started with an aluminum wheel. Boy was that a bad idea, the 50 grit belts ate that up in short order. I next started using a Beaumont 2" wheel, that performed very well, almost a year and no real wear. I now am using a prototype that I had some input on to withstand abuse like this better than what is out there. If anyone would like clearer pictures on this arm and or a blueprint I would be happy to oblige. This will help get a very deep finger groove.

That looks great.

I bet there are some skateboard wheels that would be suited since they are meant to roll on concrete.

Thanks for chiming in Chris. That's too bad the 5 arm is still in the protoype stages, it looks like a beast. Not sure how often I would actually use all 5 tool arm slots, but I sure want 5 lol.

I read some of those old topics on the GIB. That was a debacle to say the least.

I'm glad Jamie and Chris posted on this thread. It seemed "much about a misunderstanding" to me. It's nice to hear it directly from them. :)

Chris--- If you need a hack knife maker to help with testing and feedback on this new grinder... I know a guy. ;) :D

I'm super impressed with the photos of your TAG. Sure wish I could have made it to BLADE to see it in person. I think I need one!!! :)

Chris, that setup you've got looks a lot like a horizontal variant of a Bader small
wheel attachment I've lusted after for several years now. Seems like a very good
idea.
