hi guys
who here has a wilmont grinder and would you have a little buddy over other models ? I am looking at upgrading and need some serious input by makers

I have the Little Buddy. But I don't have it running yet. I still need a motor and VFD. But I can tell you that it is a quality built machine. I have no doubt that I'll be happy with it. It went together super easy and much quicker than I thought it would. And the customer service I've received from Chris is second to none.

I've got both a LB and a TAG-101.

If you've got the budget, consider the TAG-101 or a TW-90, depending on your needs. They're comparable but do different things.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Little Buddy is the absolute best grinder available in it's price class, and if that's your budget, don't waste your time elsewhere.

Appreciate the comments guys the TAG - 101 looks the goods and travis grinder would be awesome but in Australian its a issue getting things sent here in Australia.
My dad said to me once money well spent is always forgotten, I dont want to buy a grinder that i find in a few months i should of upgraded at the time or bought another brand. Since all the world recognized brands come out of USA i am looking for your honest feedback and appreciate it.

I made my first knife at Chris's shop on the LB and would recommend it to anyone regardless of budget. If you haven't yet, give Chris a call and ask about all of the different things you can do with it.

I have sent a email to travis as well. From what i see they tw 90 and the wilmont are on par with each other. The TAG is certainly the goods with everything you could think of if there is anything else you guys can add it would be appreciated. I would like to know how it goes as a horizontal grinder.

I don't have either make, but I do have others. What I want to ask is do you have a surface grinder and if not would one of Travis' machines help with that? I've never had a surface grinder and do "get along" without one but to have one could be very handy. Frank

I have a dedicated surface grinder i just like the look of what the tw90 can do as well.
Thanks guys for the comments
Anyone got any other suggestions? like burr king/bader i am committing big money here and dont mind spending just want quality.

Go the TAG troop. I've used quite a few grinders over the years. After using Corins TAG I just had to have one. Just my 2c.
Cheers keith

You might wont to give Chris at Wilmont a call, he has sent some of his grinders to some folks in Australia, if im not mistaken they are selling them there... Oh by the way I have both of the Wilmont grinders, the LB is a great grinder to start out on and the package price for the quality is fantastic, both the LB and TAG are cut by water jet CNC machines......Chris does more than sell his grinders he uses the crap out of them, in the last couple weeks he has ground over 150 knifes using both his LB and TAG grinders in preparing for the Blade show coming up..............so he really knows his product

Thanks guys i have made my mind up and going to order the TAG. - with small wheel attachment All of your comments have been very much appreciated.
