I'm actually crying writing this. I have to stop making knives due to a horrible divorce. I'm not out for good, just for now.
Wilmont Grinders TAG-101 with flipping plates. This grinder is amazing. That's it. Just amazing.
I smoked the vfd in February, so it went to KB Electronics for repair. They put in a new board with the newest versions of the components. They also put in a reversing switch, which is super handy for sharpening, and for the next part:
Variable speed disc.
1.5 hp 3ph Baldor all set up and ready to run. You can see the twist locks on the individual grinders. This makes sure you only power one at a time. The twist locks and heavy gauge wire were over $100 by themselves and are high quality Cooper brand components.
This setup works really well. The reversing switch makes the disc great for getting your bevels truly flat. It will change your knives for the better, believe me.
I also have a whole heap of belts that I'm not going to need now that I am no longer going to have a grinder. I can get an exact accounting, but there are like $300-400 worth of brand new belts. Includes a bunch of gator belts and jflex wood belts and a scotchbrite belt. I can count them today sometime.
This is a turn key setup at a fair price. The grinder is $3000+ shipping new. The wire, motor, and disc are over $350. $300+ worth of brand new belts. I'd like $3000 for it. If you come pick it up, I'll throw in the table with it and help you load it. That table is butcher block top with 2x4 and 2x6 frame with 600lb load leveling feet from Rockler. It's worth the drive if you're anywhere close.
I also have a Lincoln 225 AC/DC welder with very few hours. $300. I would take offers on the welding table too. Also a Hobart O/A torch set. Local pickup only.
If you come to me, I might have more deals if you come with cash. Water stones, portaband, drill bits, some Aldo 52100, 15N20.
Guys it would be worth your time to drive even a few or even several hours. For the right guy I might even sell the small wheel attachment with it and throw in a piece of 136 lb/yard rail track.
