I am getting closer to start my own heat treating. Here is a tester I snagged off ebay It came from a machine shop in north jersey. I don't think it saw much use at all.

It came with the original manual, can of dash pot oil, Eel skid oil for the elevation screw, test blocks, anvils and penetrators. It was made during WW2 but it takes accurate readings. I still have to do some more cleaning in the elevation screw and find a better place to mount it permanent.

I too have a pacific rim imitation- reads accurite on all the blocks even some I've tested on a wilton so yeah I'm happy with it, but its not made in good ole USA. Nice score!

Thanks I was planing on buying the import but this came up and worked out for me. I cant wait to start making knives again LOL. I have been very busy with getting the shop ready and babysiting my little girl.
