I sent in the Wilson Combat Elite Level 3 pictured below to Wilson Tactical for some work. The ball detent was worn flat, and I asked them to toss on some new thumbstuds and washers while they had the knife. I sent the knife on the 22nd, USPS tracking indicates that they received it on Monday the 26th. Well, the knife was waiting for me when I got home today, they sent it back via UPS Second Day Air. So, they got it on Monday, did the work and sent it back that same day via Second Day Air, all on their dime. On top of that, there was no mention of the rayskin inserts or bead blasted blade. When I sent a customized knife to Emerson for warranty repair, they flat out told me that they worked on it this time but would not work on the knife again because I had altered it.

I will not hesitate to buy another Wilson Tactical knife, they stand behind their product 100%.

Nice folder. I have considored a time or two of buying one of those but was unsure that they are worth their pricetag. Can you give me some insight on the use, durability etc. etc., your personal experiences. Are they comparable to a Sebenza,Strider or any other $300-$400 folder?

Thanks, MPE

I EDC a Large Classic Sebenza and a Strider SMF, so I have some idea how they compare to the Wilson. The fit and finish on the Wilson are very good, though not quite to Sebenza levels. The Wilson is very flat, especially after removing the G-10 inserts so it rides well in the pocket despite its fairly large size. The blade is pretty thin near the edge so it gets very sharp, this is probably also a function of the blade steel, a modified 440C. I haven't used the knife much so I can't comment on the edge holding abilities of Wilson's custom 440 mix. What I can comment on is the overall durability of the knife. I don't know how many others have had this knife before me, but the ball detent was literally worn flat and the washers were torn to shreds. Yet lockup is solid and there is no play around the pivot pin.

All in all, a nice easy to carry knife with a useful blade shape and length, very durable and with excellent CS to back it up. A winner all around, this is a keeper for me.
