I think I have found my own personal grail, a Wilson Combat / CRK Umnumzaan, old school style - old pivot, non-OTS, S30V goodness. Smooth as silk, locks like Fort Knox, and just oozes opulent quality all over my eyeballs and hands - I AM IN LOVE!!!

Nice score, I have a similar one with a tanto blade ill probably never let go of.

That old style pivot was so great. Its gotta be the feature of all CRKs I wish they hadn't got rid of. It was so original, and so much a part of the design asthetics of the Umnuum. I keep hoping they'll go back to it, and that these days will be viewed as a dark chapter in Umnuum history, when all you got was a hex button screw,

I've been EDCing an old pivot/no-OTS Zaan for over a month now (which frankly is hard to believe if you know what a blade-whore I usually am), but this Star-Tac is so dang sweet. Previous owner put a nice polished edge via WE and combined with the "heavier" looking S30V stonewash, it is just WOW.

That's a very sweet knife, I enjoy owning 2 very similar to it.

Your title made me think of Tom Hanks in Castaway ;)

Congrats.

Wow, great looking knife. I have a Starbenza and love the way it looks. I wounded if WC has a 25 in the works?

Great looking Umnum. I had one of the first ones ever offered didn't even have the IM stamp on it, kicking myself for letting it go.

I sure hope so. I am so on the edge of picking up another large but I know as soon as I do they will release the 25 and I would rather have it.

Wow, would love to have one of those. Do you remember if it had the extended/ridged lockbar (release side)? I hear the original (non extended) were harder to unlock.

It's been awhile but I think it did have the extension.

Here is a shot of the lock side.
