I may be taking the wrong approach but, by looking at just distinct handle materials/colors, I get 33.
 
IMPORTANT UPDATE: OK there appears to be a little confusion on how the contest works so I will try and clarify. We are not looking for total knives on the site, but total of different handle styles/colors, ie. grey aluminium may be on 15 knives, but it counts as one handle style
color.

You can determine the correct number by looking at the part number suffixes,
ie. "NN" is black, "CB" = cocobolo, etc.
HINT: The final answer will not be a very high number.

So you may want to go back and edit your answers
