The past couple of days i have been trying to stain some leather in order to make it look old and beaten up and i think i am starting to get the hang of it. :D When i came home from work today i took some of the stained leather pieces and cut a spiderweb pattern and stiched together a spidery sheath.
I had not intended to use this leather for making sheaths because it's a little on the soft side but i put some leather hardner on it and it firmed up nicely..

I will give this sheath to the hog or hogette that chops thru or chops down the thickest tree/log.. :D
Be sure to document the thickness of your tree properly

Well folks GET CHOPPING :D

Cool comp!!!!! Can't wait to see the action! Perhaps I should get outside in this rain and make some of my own :)

Question: do you have to chop down a standing tree or is through one that is already down acceptable? Cause falling a tree can get pretty dangerous and with the FSH you are going to be up close and personal when it starts to go.

Nice! Heading up to my property in Utah in the morning. I don't have my CGNMFSH yet so the MOAD will have to do!

chopping through one that is already down is of course acceptable .. :D

Got to my property in Utah, light rain all day, it was perfect chopping weather:D
The largest log I could find that was close to camp measured 54 1/4" around the area to be chopped.
The 1311 MOAD was a virgin until today, it's an awesome chopper! and perfect for large logs with it's reach.
On with the pictures!

Way to go Salvo  how did the edge on the 1311 hold up?

The 1311 is still pretty sharp, it wont cut arm hair any more though,
I did get one little water filled blister on my ring finger

Nice job Salvo! I dont think the locust thats down in my tree line is that big. Might have to go tree hunting.
