Wingen huge bowie/ Problem handle ???

The Brass butt part of the handle is loose. It has a circular cap which is flush on the end the butt . I assume thats where it is attached & where it is tightened, but how to get that out ???? Can anyone help????

Got a picture? There are various methods of attaching a pommel. Some use a threaded rod welded to the tang and then tighten down and weld a nut to the end, which is sometimes ground to a round shape. Others have a straight tang that goes through the pommel and is peened/hammered to a tight fit.

Huh? You mean grind a slot in the buttcap, and then use the flat blade screwdriver on the slot? I don't see how a slotted flat-blade screwdriver would be of any use.
