Wingsuit Base Jumping -- Amazing Video

Here's one that I think beats it, but barely. This guy goes out of a chopper in the winter, and down a mountain. He has found a snow covered slope with the angle of his descent. He has some buddies on the slope filming, as well as his helmet cam and a guy from the chopper, and maybe someone on another peak, it's hard to say.

Anyway, he manages to skim down this slope, he can't be more than 20 or 30 feet off the snow, right over his buddies' heads, for what looks to be 400 yards or more. You can literally see his wake in the snow in one shot. It is just unreal.

I don't know how to put the video in here, so I just posted the link. If anyone knows how to do it, feel free.

Here you go.

To insert a youtube video you copy the code after the = and enclose it with [you_tube] [/you_tube] But make youtube all one word. Without the underscores it won't show up as an example.

Thanks Ilbruche! The opening sequence on the helmet cam as he approaches the mountain gives me chills every time...

As those guys skim over the ridges, I keep thinking "Belly landing" ...

Awesome stuff but there does not seem to be much room for minor injuries during the learning curve?

I agree! I keep wondering in the 2nd one, if he could tuck and roll... Now THAT would be a video! :D

At the end of the video I think I saw them deploying a chute.

Oops I didnt notice that this thread had 2 pages and it had already been answered

I think they need to make one of those suits in a "Superman" design--then use it for urban BASE jumping. Fun to look out the window and see someone thus attired, flying by.
