For sale is my Winkler Combat Axe. It's from the first run that Triple Aught Design did — which means that it's exactly the same as the normal (ie. non-TAD) hammer-poll version, in that it has the tapered tang (as far as I understand, subsequent TAD versions did NOT have the tapered tang, which is why this bears mentioning). The only thing distinguishing this as the TAD version is the TAD logo hammered into the face of the axe (see photos).
The axe has black canvas micarta handle scales, and comes with the lined boltaron quick-release sheath. Axe is in excellent condition — was used lightly for light wood processing on a couple of camping trips, and has some cosmetic scuffing/thinning of the Caswell treatment due to this use, particularly behind the edge, but has never been damaged. Comes with original Winkler box.
Notably: when I first purchased the axe, I modified the edge, slightly re-profiling it to convex. The edge is well refined and polished, and the convexing lends it to easy maintenance with a loaded strop in the field if needed.
