Reposting this very nice knife. Initial sale did not go through.
Winkler II Belt Knife with Maple scales.
SOLD
Or best offer. If you’re interested don’t be shy, make an offer. I need to sell for cash so no trades.
This knife has a bead blast finish, NOT Caswell. This finish was done by the maker at the request of my husband's father, who gave him this knife. My father in law found that the Caswell finish came off on meat when he was dressing a deer with his Winkler II Field Knife. So, he asked that the Belt Knife be finished with bead blast, NOT Caswell. Also, this knife has a polished edge and a slightly different bevel than standard. It is optimized for cutting meat, etc. rather than sheet metal, and it very sharp. This was all done by Winkler II maker.
We have never used this knife. My father in law told us he did not either, he preferred the Field Knife. If you're a collector rather than a user these variations might not work for you. Also, the box has Caswell written on it, again from the maker.
If you're interested please reply ONLY by posting in thread or sending a message that appears in 'conversations.' I have received blizzards of responses to previous knives I've offered for sale, and it gets confusing when some are email, others posted to my profile, others come in as 'conversations,' and still others posted on the thread. Also, even though I click on the 'watch this thread and send email' buttons I do NOT always get an email and don't know an offer has been made until I check the thread. When this happens I don't know which one came in first. I try to respond in the order received, but it's very hard to do that when this happens. Please don't get hurt feelings if I make a mistake.
