Description: Mastersmith Daniel Winkler created the Winkler II line in 2010. It is an alternate approach to an established tradition. Winkler Knives II is the result of processes Daniel Winkler developed over the past few years in order to provide axes and knives to teams within United States Army Special Operations and US Naval Special Warfare. Each piece in this collection bears the Winkler Knives II touchmark.
The F1 Folder is the first folder designed by Daniel for the Winkler II line. It is an exceptional knife and is sure to be a cherished EDC. Weighing in at 4-1/2 ounces, it is a comfortable knife to keep close by your side.
The premium CPM3V stainless steel blade will hold a keen, long lasting edge. It is bead blasted for a no-glare finish.
Bead blasted titanium liners support textured green G10 scales. A ball bearing pivot ensures, smooth flip opening. A bead blasted titanium pocket clip is mounted for tip-up carry.

Just confusing, if the maker can't name it right then..... ya know. Besides 3v is known to pit rather than rust, and bead blasting will only increase this. Not sure I get the concept of this knife.

Interesting! Didn't know about this knife...thanks for posting! I love my Belt Knife.

The maker did not post it the seller did I'm sure it was an oops. As for rust I have plenty of cabin steel folders and fixed blades. I prefer carbon steel to stainless. None of mine have rust. I have all carbon steel kitchen knives my edc is 52100. My hunting knife 5160. No rust it's called maintenance wash off blood dry off water use oil. Just like a gun.

Agreed, I have many carbon blades as well. I make 52100 knives. Just letting it be known that sandblasting make can open pores and can rust easier. It's not the best finish for a blade. A hard stoneware can take away ALOT of glare.

I sent blade gallery a note and they said it was indeed a slip and will be changing the description. As for the finish I will have to see once I get it and use it. Going hunting Thursday for 5 days so it will get a good field test. I will report back.

I'm sure you'll be fine, as you said you take well care of your blades. Congrats on the new knife and good luck huntin!!

In regards to the bead blast finish..... yes bead blast does rust. But its only the coating rusting, not the blade itself.

seems like a really cool design. I have always really liked Daniels stuff

Bead blast is not a coating, its a finish of the metal itself like satin finish or stonewashed. Any rust on a blasted blade is actually corrosion on the blade itself.

I put good money on it because I am betting with the way Mr. Winkler is that he will fix any real problems that might come up. Again all this can be prevented with oil or other corrosion resistant lubes. But I also think Hoppes should make an aftershave. I like maintaining my gear almost as much as using it.
