Winner...And Still Heavyweight Champion...The Venerable Buck 110

My wife ordered some for me last year online from WallyWorld, if you dont find something in the store that is an opption! HL

I maybe should have done that, but things actually turned out better cost-wise.

I did almost miss them entirely, though......just got to Amazon in the nick of time.

I cant believe the 110 i just bought was $10 cheaper than what i paid back in 92 or so.

People complain about prices but LOTS of stuff is way cheaper now than 20 yrs ago.

Hello All,Brand new here, great forum!I own several folders,a few Kershaws and Benchmade which I love. However I 'm switching back to my old faithful Buck 110.I have a few 110's and my favorite is the finger grooved model.I can't take any thing away from the modern folders I think I'm just looking to keep it simple and get back to basics. What better knife than the 110?Anyone have any comments or thoughts?

Hello All,Brand new here myself.Seems to be a great community here!I just switched back to my 110 Finger grooved model as my everyday carry.I own several Kershaws and Benchmades and they are great knives.I think I just wanted to get back to basics with my tried and true 110.Yes its heavier than most out there but how many of us have ever been let down by one?

Hey Boss,

Go to http://www.buckknives.com/ and order yourself a 110 in S30V, FG's, and whatever handle material that blows up your skirt.

I ordered a S30V, Nickel Silver bolsters, rivets, and Indigo blue just this week. Great knives from the Custom Shop. gw

What's the story on the MAG-LITE? It looks like a one D cell custom job with no switch and a twist on/off like the AAA and AA models.

I gotta tell you-One of my hobbies is metal detecting and I would go at dusk quite often and always carried a Maglite-You know made of real metal, heavy duty, cops use them-Gotta be great right? THEY SUCK.

EVERY last one I ever had broke and by broke i mean-it stopped shining a light. Just a little grit would get in there and it was all over. You could shake it or take it apart and sometimes get it going again but always temporarily. After the first flicker, it was on borrowed time.

I was fiercely loyal to those POS throwing money away time after time somehow believing their reputation over my experience until one day I picked up a $2 plastic Garrity somewhere. I took it out metal detecting and it worked forever-no flickering ever. All i buy now is plastic Flashlights and i havent had to buy very many. Maybe Mags are great if they never touch dirt -I dont know.

What exactly is Indigo Royalwood? It it a real wood? Or a stained wood? (and if so which wood is stained?) Or is it a synthetic?

For example, African Purpleheart is actually a natural purple wood.

I have thought about getting a CKS 110 in Indigo royalwood with brass bolsters and rivets and a mirror blade. It think it would give the knife an old-guard nautical look. Let me know how you like yours.

no what buck uses is a stained laminated wood...
you can get solid wood like oak and koa and walnut and some times maple..
they all cost a tad more..but worth it !:)

Talked to a guy who had driven down from Minn. he got some good deals on machine gun parts for his belt fed german machine gun.......
As is usually the situation, few Buck knives, mainly Case......but did get one because it was good deal.
