Measuring 424mm due to perspective, as in objects are shrinking towards a vanishing point in the background. Based on the angle of the camera to the table top, and assuming a right angle at the point directly above the ruler, that makes the receding angle about 17 degrees, vs. an assumed parallel vector of the table top. Using a printed copy of the ruler, and taking into account the receding angle, and the assumed distance from the first knife to the last knife, I come up with 424mm.

Ah, heck. I'm just making this stuff up as I go along. It's just a wild guess.
