Winner Announced! Jk pumpkin carving contest, it's time! All are welcome

Welp,I got it done. Not nearly as good as my current avatar pic,but what the hey, this is the first one I've carved by myself.(We had help as kids.)
I used my Toby's Knife to open it up,an ice-cream scoop to gut it & a Schrade 93OT to do the carving.
I gotta say it's a lot harder than I thought it would be,especially using a smaller pumpkin & shrunk down template.(thank you Pete for the template idea)
It sure is hard getting a good indoor pic with a crummy camera but here ya go......my first pumpkin carving in well over 40 years.:o

I think this fuzzy pic looks the most sinister so I kept it.:)

Cool Idea!

Not my entry, as we don't carve them until the 30th, but here's my son's from last year:

It's a little tough on the hands when the knife doesn't have a handle, but I was able to take the top off with it.

I can handle it for you if you like, I could see why you might want to keep it plain though, it's fine neck knife as is

can't wait to see the end results

Maggie and I are home from our vacation, so we will be carving the pumpkins tomorrow -

I tried to get a shot of John to do as my pumpkin for this, but I was not able to get a pattern I liked from the picture....

I did this pumpkin a few years ago (the one on the right) - if I can get a better (more contrasty) picture of John, I can do him in a pumpkin....

Well this afternoon I gave it a shot, on a JK themed pumpkin! Had help from the kids, and got inspiration from a piece of JK swag.

The Kentucky Fieldmate helped out. (The kids drew on theirs)

Finished result

With the inspiration

So my 3 year old grand daughter is scrolling through Jack O Lanterns on google (she usually does animals), and she somehow takes this photo when no one is looking.View attachment 388130

I was just messing with you - I had John stand for a photo at the Gathering -

I used my Modified Wharncliffe to open the pumpkins and cut the air holes etc.
