2007 Case XX 3318 Medium Stockman CV in Yellow Delrin

This is a knife I traded my good friend Owen (ddml) for some weeks back. I actually traded him a knife I won in a giveaway here on the forums that I figured he could appreciate better than myself. So now we're coming full circle (kinda..) I've carried her the past couple weeks and bonded with her nicely. Blades have been thinned out (pardon my ugly grinds!) and slice plenty fine. Patinas formed naturally from slicing apples. Great F&F, though the spey and sheepsfoot rub and the clip has some slight vertical play. No biggies. Just a great feeling classic piece of cutlery.

Life is on the up for me and I feel like giving away a simple, modest knife that I've really come to cherish.

This is open to all traditionalists (post count is irrelevant, we know how to spot you!) Those of you outside the states please feel free to enter, I will ship wherever.

No real criteria this time. Post a picture, a story, whatever you please, or just a simple "I'm in" will suffice. Conversation is welcome, post as much as you like. I'll pick a winner via random number generator and keep drawing numbers until I get someone's initial post. I'll let this run a week and announce a winner on the evening of the 15th.

WINNER IS POST #23 BJE

Take care all~

Jon

This is not an entry, as I had just been given that exact same knife a few months ago, (even had the rub issues on the same blades) just wanted to sing the praises of this particular traditional pattern.

The clip blade is a very thin pointy CA Clip, it's great for slicing apples and even makes a serviceable blade for processing small game.

The Sheepsfoot is pretty beefy, works great for utility work, (cutting leather, cardboard and makes a great scraper for gaskets).

The Spey blade is my scalpel, it's kept razor sharp and used for my delicate cutting.

The pattern even makes a usable whittling knife.

Thanks for hosting a great giveaway and good luck to everyone who enters.

I'm like to join in on the orca wins the Case Stockman GAW! thread. Now that's a perfect thread title right there. :D

The serpentine handle shape is my favorite. I'm like T. Ederlyi: I have specific uses for each blade. Main blade for utility cutting, sheepfoot for carving/whittling, and the spay is for food prep.

Thanks for the chance -

Oh yes, and feel free to suggest a proper thread title ;)

your wish is my command.
hmmm hows about just off the top of my head.

Stick a Stockman in your Stetson.
Have a Stab at a Stray Stockman for a Steal.
Sturdy Stockman Stands Strong.
Stay Stable for Stockman Stampede .

Stupid Stooge Stumbles ,Steps on Stingray and Stops Still.

not an entry btw.
cheers.

I just gave my dad a yellow Sodbuster Jr. after finding out he lost his Old Timer of many years (guessing 330T). I had to modify the tip to be more "poky" for his tasks, and I think he'd be happier with a stockman of some sort - plus side is I may have won him over to Case finally!

I'm in if I qualify.

Considering I have been looking at stockmans for the last several hours rethinking my views on them, and how practical they are. Yeah I think I say, I'm in thanks for the chance.

I should probably look at the Case stockmans now, I've been looking at the Bucks, Old Timers, and Queen D2. I have a habit of over researching things and just haven't got around to it yet. At my current rate I am wondering what kind of traditional I will end up with, originally it was the canoe, than country cousin, case copperlock (out of budget I am comfortable with sadly), and now the stockman. If you can't tell I over think things before buying something, hopefully I get around to buying one in a month or two.

Not sure if I count as a traditional knife enthusiest since I am not sure if I own a real traditional, I might and thats a very big might have one safely stored away that was either my great grandfathers or grandmothers that I had for over 20 years but it's too hard to get to that location to check. And I wouldn't dare EDC or use that knife. So I am not sure I even qualify.

A great knife wonderfully photographed Jon. Thanks for doing this giveaway, very kind of you. I've already been on the receiving end of a lot of generosity recently, so this is not an entry, but good luck to everyone :)

Great giveaway, I do not have a stockman and would love one BUT, I have also been the lucky recipient of a couple of giveaways recently and think someone else should have a chance.

Thanks for your generosity.

But not an entry, because I almost have almost the very same knife and I´ve lately a reciever of your generosity and won a GAW.
