Hello everyone,
First let me thank everyone for making me feel so welcome and at home here on the porch for the last few months. This really is a special place and I'm proud to be a small part of it
In the few months I've been here I've witnessed so much camaraderie and generosity that I honestly believe it's effected my outlook on society as a whole, and for that I thank you all again.
So in the spirt of the porch and at a milestone in my minor collection ( 25 Buck 303's) I'd like to pay a bit forward and offer in the way of a 303 GAW, a small token of appreciation.
So here's the plan, I'll leave this open until the 20th of this month to give as many as possible a chance to enter. To enter just tell me what your favorite everyday pocketknife is. I know so many of you have and carry some of the finest knives I've ever seen and I love seeing them but I want to know what you toss into your pocket knowing it's going to get used, scratched, chipped or bent. Let's see those users!
What will you get if your the winner? I'll send you a brand new in the package never touched since BUCK packaged it 303. What I consider the worlds perfect everyday pocket knife and all I ask is you carry it everyday for a week before you toss it in a drawer or put it on the shelf.
So on the 20th I'll use a random number generator to pick a winner then I'll ask for your mailing address ( no matter where in this big world you are) and I'll ship your new user out to you.
So let's get this started.

The numbers are in and Skivic is our winner! His entry # 25 with s picture of a GEC Beer Scout was drawn!

Congrats sir I hope you enjoy.

I also had the random number generator select a couple consolation pride winners and I'll post them soon. Thank you all for entering and sharing your users!

I don't yet own a Buck 303 so I'd like a chance to try.
Thanks for generously running a Buck from your herd!
Currently I have an Opinel 9 in with my coins, bills and Space Pen and a Case Seahorse Whittler in the back pocket by itself.

Buck put me off a bit with their China made traditionals but this is a good chance to give them another shot.
Thanks again!

Not an entry as I have one, but that is generous. Thanks!

How about posting a pic of these 25 303's?

Here's a quick snap of when it was 20, I'll try to put together a good pic of them all before this ends.

For my purposes, the Case Peanut is perfect. I'm in, and I would like to give the 303 a try.

Not an entry as I have a 303 and would rather give someone else a chance to own one. I did want to comment on your 303 collection it looks fantastic. I love to see someone build a collection of a knife they love and you my friend have a great one.

Here's a 309 that's seen a lot of action. I'd love a new 303. Please count me in. Thanks!

If I win send it to BAM as I have a 303 and it does get carried often, not as often as my Bud Nealy Aikuchi, I've carried this knife pretty much everyday since I bought it from him in the late 80s. That's 30+ years and it shows, every nick, ding and scratch lovingly earned by yours truly :) .

I think a 303 was the first pocketknife I owned, given to me by my mom when I turned 10. I'm not sure though because it got lost at the beach during a fishing trip :(, needless to say I'd love to have another one, thanks for the chance.

My Ohta whittler has been my EDC since I got it in January, it's got a fair share of use and scratches (no chips or bends though). It lives in a belt sheath from Gary Graley, and the 89 lives in the side pocket of my Leatherman sheath for those times a narrower blade is helpful.

I do not have a 303. I would love to be considered in the giveaway.

A few of my frequently carried.

This is a work carry pic. Really, once I get to work they go in the drawer a lot. Because I can't carry into court or the jail.

I have had a Case Peanut in my pocket everyday since Christmas. Thanks for the GAW!

Clay, this is a wonderful thing you are doing. I enjoy seeing your collection of bucks. You certainly show conviction in your choice of knife and that is something to be admired. It seems the porch has a way of affecting many people, myself included. There is no other place that I've found where folks can compare and compliment knives ranging in value from a few dollars to many hundreds of dollars with equal vigor and politeness. No matter the cost of the knife, it's what it means to the owner that marks its true value - THAT is what is truly important. Here on the porch, that is what is important. I look forward to many more pictures from you and to many more discussions and exchanges with you.

This is not an entry, just my way of saying thank you for being part of the porch. No matter where in the world we may be physically located, you'll always have friends here.

Thank you all for the kind words and showing some great users. Hope they will keep coming.

That is a nice group of 303s:thumbup:I have a lot of knives that I carry but use gently- but this Carbon Opinal is not one of those! I used this knife just last weekend to open up bags of concrete for a garden project, it handled it great.

I'm in, thanks so much! I love the story and history of Buck but only own one - a 110. I think the 303 looks great and have had one on my radar.

My most used pocketknife is definitely one of two, depending on the day.

Either my red sawcut bone GEC Beer Scout:

Or a maroon linen micarta GEC 92 Talon (which I carry with a Bark River Adventurer):

Not in since I just received a beaut on give away last week. When I absolutely don't want to worry about hurting a knife I grab this Ulster stockman:

Thanks for you generosity!

I'm in and thanks! Been wanting a buck folder for awhile, as my grandfather carried one , but his was lost in a fire. I carry a L.T. Wright Pro-Tsc pretty much everyday, but right now my favorite is the Queen #h49 cattlemen stockman that Tom Krein reground for me. Saying it's sharp is like saying water is wet. Love it. And it's D2, so the edge should last for awhile.
Thanks, Neal

I'm in and thank you for the chance. I haven't had a new Buck folder since probably before 1980.
This Case 3318 was a surprise be-all and end-all, because I don't like narrow clips, but it 's dominated my pocket for a long time. I've even gotten silly about the patina.

Clay,

I agree with you about the Porch. This is a rare and precious virtual meeting place, made so by the many fine gentlemen and ladies who stop by to share their stories.

I've accumulated a modest, very eclectic "collection" of knives over the years, and enjoy carrying them all. But my favorite knife for "hard" use (I'm pretty careful with my tools) is a Western 742 stockman. It was a present from my parents when I was 10 years old - about 46 years ago.

Please count me in to your generous giveaway. But should I win, please consider sending the Buck 303 instead to a young person of your choice, or a new member of the Porch who is just starting out with their knife collecting journey, with my blessing.

Jeff
