SEE POST #39 - cbtengr's brother-in-law currently deployed in Afghanistan is the winner.

Got my brand new GSO 4.1 from Survive! Knives this week, but due to a computer SNAFU, there were 3 of them in the box instead of 1.

When I contacted Guy to get the extra 2 blades back to him, he offered to let me keep an extra one for the trouble. Ridiculously generous. But i've already got the one i ordered, and i need my other hand to hold my beer. or flyrod. whatever.

I offered again to send them both back, but he continued with the ridiculously generous. So we compromised: With Guy's blessing, we're going to do a giveaway to someone who could really use one. Who will use one. This giveaway is going to be a thank you to a deployed soldier, because they deserve it. If you're currently deployed, or know someone who is, you/they are in for a great knife.

REQUIREMENTS:
1) a pic, any pic, of the person in uniform. that's your entry. BDUs, dress blues, doesn't matter. it'll be nice to see the faces of people serving our country overseas.
2) delivery has to be an overseas/APO address. that's how i'm keeping you greedy monsters honest :). i'll be sending it directly. i don't need it now, just when you win. but know i'll be sending it directly, to you or whoever you enter.

i think you can probably check out anything specific you need to know about the knife on the Survive Knives website.

specs:
Blade Material: CPM-3V
Blade Length: 4.25" (tip to front of handle)
Blade Cutting Length: 4.33"
Blade Height: 1.25"
Blade Thickness: 5/32"(.156")
Overall Length: 8.95"
Handle: Camo Canvas Micarta
Sheath: Black Kydex by Kiah

pic lifted from the website because Guy is a better photographer than me:

let's run it for 10 days. Drawing sometime Monday April 29th (probably lunchtime).
Feel free to comment/chat and keep it on the front page so people see it. Keep it nice. i'll grab the posts with pics in them when it's time to run the random number generator.

To All In Uniform: Thank You For Your Service!

What an awesomely cool GAW with a great purpose. This is not an entry; I just wanted to acknowledge how cool this is! (plus, the knife is reallly sweet and 3V too!)

sending some karma your way, brutha. but I'm not deployed, this should be pretty sweet for some lucky grunt out there. :p

Not an entry but just wanted to say that this is a very cool GAW for our deserving protectors!

Great idea and generous on both your parts!! I'm retired, but would definitely have enjoyed this care package!

Aw man. If I had not already purchased one this would hav been great since I am leaving for deployment APR 28. At least that's the schedule for now. This knife is awesome and I plan to have this with me through my long deployment. Some other lucky marine/soldier/sailor/airman might be quite fortunate!!! Unless you want to send me another one lol...

Much respect...

you qualify, bud. and even if you've already got one, you're going to be in a uniquely qualified position to gift it a to fellow deployed m/s/s/a who'd appreciate it. enter!!!!

Not an entry. Great giveaway! Very generous of you and Survive! knives to do this.

Not a request for me but as a retired NCO it just makes my heart sing when someone for no other reason than compassion and love for our Soldiers does something like this. Thank you sir and many Blessings to you.

Not an entry.

Be careful on the customs form when you send it. "Shaving kit", "personal hygiene items" are good.

If you write "fixed blade knife" I can almost guarantee they will never see it.

I would send it with some Girl Scout cookies or something.

"Camping Tool" goes on every one of my customs declarations.

Wow that would be awesome! I know a few people that would like that. Although I leave for deployment APR28 we will be in 29 palms for the first few months for raining and unfortunately don't receive mail there. It may not be until July/August when we reach our destination and I have no idea what the address may be. If you want you could ship it to my wife who could send it out to me at some point. That's at your discretion.

Anyways so I guess this is an entry then :) an address can be provided if you decide to choose me. Thanks for the consideration.

As stated before much respect for you and Guy at Survive!
