*Winner Chosen* The "What was your favorite present?" giveaway

On the fishing theme. Mine was a Mitchell spinning reel and associated yellow Eagle Claw fiberglass rod, cork grips.

My first spinning reel - must have been when I was...11-12? I fished the snot out of that combo.

Thanks for the chance

When I was about 11 or 12 my parents gave me my first air rifle. A real nice Crossman .22 cal. pump air rifle. That gun took alot of small game and pests. I still have that gun. Just needs to be tuned up. Thanks..........Paul

Back around 1960 i guess i got a VacUForm. You heated the thing up,put a piece of plastic in it and molded your own toys.Man,it was cool!Havent heard of them since.I imagine it burned down a bunch of houses and got recalled. Thanks for the giveaway!

Good stories so far. I got a real kick out of "Who wants panackes?" :)

One year my brother and I got a small air hockey table, probably 3 or 4 feet long, and I remember we played that a lot. Probably didn't want to leave the house to head over to Grandma's for Christmas dinner.

in 1971 my first minibike when i was 11 years old.

Hey - me too!

I would always press my snotty nose to the minibike shop window and dream of my first pair of motorized wheels and the freedom they promised. One day, right out of the blue, my parents surprised me with a brand spankin' new (purple metal flake!) Taco 22 when I was eleven years old in 1968.

The list price was $139.00, which was a lot of money for us back then. Seventy-five pounds; three mighty horses; a top speed of thirty MPH (a muffler tweak and a pinched governor spring kicked that up to around 95 MPH :D) and about one thousand MPG. I was in heaven! It's still one of my fondest memories . I rode that little thing all over my home town and the local districts via a wide-ranging network of dirt back roads, all of which are loooong gone today.

Not mine, but it's the spitting image:

This isn't an entry, but thanks for the generous giveaway.

13th Christmas present , dad gave me a Craftsman toolbox... 6 drawers , all filled with tools , all Craftsman. I still have the box and most of the tools.

It was then that I really began to wrench on things , cars , motorcycles , bicycles , etc.

Years spent wrenching in the shop with dad are some of my most memorable moments of my youth.
