Winner chosen! Win $100 towards a JAG Custom Buck 110!

A simple idea:

Barehead titanium frame with sambar stag scales and drop point S30V blade.

Or a "tactical" version: Standard bolstered frame of titanium, blue G-10 scales, S30V drop point blade, with one handed opening, (assisted, manual or auto, but mechanically simple).

Fancier:
Mokume bolsters, DP S30V blade mirror polished, fossil wood scales.

Raindrop damascus blade, redwood Burl handle scales, silver bolsters, thumbstud, pocket clip.

Thou lots of the traditional guys may not agree I think an auto 110 would be cool

I would like a drop point in BG42, bare head G10 w/lightening holes cut through, NS bolster, pocket clip, thumb stud, and thumb serrations of the back of the blade.

I still don't understand why you can't get thumb serrations (jimping) in the back of the blade from the factory.

Or the tanto blade that I mentioned earlier (don't really want one but think it would be neat!)

sandvick steel wharncliffe blade with deep notch in center of blade kinda like some of the ag russell slipjoints. white ebony scales, ns bolsters.

In my earlier post, I forgot to mention an upgraded blade material. S30V,154cm,BG42,Damascus,ATS34 or D2 would be top tier to me! Also, i would like a lanyard hole and tip up carry pocket clip . Nothing replaces the mighty factory made 110 for tradition and timeless design and value, But a Hot Rod Version would be it's own thing! After all, This is the '90s :) !

I think a dark 110 could be sweet.

Ti coated black, upgraded steel blade, or nice dark gun blue with bolsters done in the same blue/black finish. I think blued would be nice with dark horn/bone handles or dark dymondwood if price was an issue. Or, even cooler I think, if it would work, would be slabs of cable or chain. If you could work a length of Harley chain into it I think the bikers would love it, standard chain would also be neat if it can be done. Give the bolsters/blade an irregular pinged/beatened texture it would really add to it I think! Bit post apocalyptic type of thing. Thumbstud, thumb jimping, and pocket clip optional.

I think I may get my BCCI membership pulled for this idea :-)

Would be an almost anti-110 since I think we all prefer the nice shiny metal most of the times.

Or you could add, the tanto blade I keep pushing :-)

I think it'd be cool to see a 110 with stainless steel bolsters and G10 or micarta scales, with Buck's ASAP assisted-opening mechanism and their Shift locking mechanism (the one on the Paradigm). It would be neat to have a 110-style knife where the lock is actually a sliding bolster, making it easy to open and close the knife one-handed.

I know this would be extremely difficult and expensive to produce a one-off of. Just throwing the idea out there though because I do really like Buck's Shift locking mechanism and think it's a shame that the only knife to use it is the Paradigm.

One other Idea for a special 110 has been brought up a couple of times on this forum allready. This is probably for those that are the "Purist " type, But with a bit of modern technology thrown in! I know we have all hoped the factory would do something like this, and maybe they`will at some point, But Jarheadz could pull it off with his pimpage skills and know how!
A Replica of the original 110 from 1963 except with an S30V blade . The Tang stamp would be replicated to the original style and all dimensions would be correct . A reverse side tang stamp would be incorporated show it was a homage model and the handle materials and dimensions would be to original specs or as close as could be obtained to the original .Maybe a non stamped aftermarket Damascus blade would be another option for this one as it could be marked accordingly with the original style of Tang stamp.

Dimensions to equal an early model.
Ti frame with steel bolsters done in a chip flint pattern; color case hardened.
Chip flint pattern blade.
fileworked lockbar.
LOCAL elk scales with tiny pins.

My second idea is pretty different,I want a sambar stag reverse barehead, bolster on back, stag up front.I want this knife with a s30v cabelas blade, nickle bolster, jimping on spine of blade ,thumstub with a cross hatch pattern for extra thumb positioning while skinning.feild dressing chores.I would love to see this knife made.lol

OK, here's a wild idea. This story and video gave me this idea:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/science/2011/oct/19/viking-burial-ship-found-scotland

The Vikings used to carry a fine grit jasper whetstone around their necks to touch up their battle instruments. Like these. They were about 3 inches long:

How's about a barehead NS or even Silicon Bronze frame with a very fine grit jasper whetstone scales. I know, I know, you couldn't use the whetstone on the blade of the knife (unless it's a Selector 110, which would be nice), but you could use it on other edges you have, (like your battle axe, spear and sword LOL ;))

A partially chip flint 420HC drop point blade would work well with the concept, but if you could chip flint a 154cm blade, even better. Another blade idea would be Damascus with a lightning pattern.

A Nordic Valknot engraved or inlayed in the bolster would be appropriate, too. A nickel silver Valknot inset in a Silicon Bronze bolster would be stunning.

Just an idea. The process of creativity results in a variety of approaches. :D

I'm thinking a csar-T handle like the 850/095. G10 scales end to end. Lanyard hole and pocketclip. A black coated short 119 or nighthawk blade in s30v steel with thumb stud. I like the thumb grip on both end of the knife.

Barehead version with desert ironwood and BG42 blade.

I like this right here, with the addition of no nail nick and a 112 hook.

(BTW, this was mostly Z's idea so if it gets chosen he gets the credit. Just want be clear I'm not piggy-backing on someone else's creativity.)

Hi Jerad -

I like your Ti perforated handled versions - so something like that, thinned down and rounded off - think a Kimber pocket-melt treatment.

Anodized in a "camo" pattern of gold, blue and plain ti.

My version would have a pocket clip for tip-up carry, and here is the kicker - it would have a wave-type feature on the top/rear of the blade for opening the knife out of pocket.

Extra points if you could incorporate a ball-bearing pivot system.

That would be the ultimate modern 110 in my opinion.

Thanks for the chance and best regards -
